1. Not a flight school, not a certificate-issuer
FlightAcademia.ai is a study and practice tool for student pilots. It is not a flight school, not a Part 141 or Part 142 ground school of record, and not a substitute for instruction from an FAA-certificated flight instructor (CFI / CFI-I). FlightAcademia.ai does not issue any FAA endorsement, certificate, rating, or legal authorization for flight activities. Endorsements (student pilot, flight review, IPC, cross-country, complex, high-performance, tailwheel, etc.) MUST be signed by a certificated CFI in person in compliance with 14 CFR Part 61 and Part 141. Any records stored in this platform are training notes only and have no legal weight regarding FAA certification status.
2. Not a substitute for FAA publications
Lessons, oral coach responses, scenario debriefs, chart explanations, and ATC trainer dialogue are generated and curated to align with the current Airman Certification Standards and other FAA guidance. However, regulations and procedures change. Before applying any information to actual flight operations you must verify it against current authoritative sources, including:
- 14 CFR (the FARs)
- The Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM)
- The applicable Airman Certification Standards (PPL ACS, IR ACS, etc.)
- The Pilot's Operating Handbook / AFM for the specific aircraft
- Current Aeronautical Charts, NOTAMs, and weather products
- Your flight school's standard operating procedures
3. AI content can be wrong
The Service uses large language models and generative AI from multiple vendors (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT and Realtime, Google Gemini). These models can produce confident-sounding answers that are incomplete, outdated, or factually incorrect. Do not rely on any AI-generated content as the sole basis for a flight decision. When in doubt, ask your CFI and consult the authoritative source.
If you spot an error in any question, lesson, scenario, or debrief, please use the "Report issue" button on the relevant screen so we can review and correct it.
4. The ATC voice trainer is a simulator
The ATC trainer is a simulated radio environment intended to practice phraseology and ATC interactions on the ground. It does not connect to real ATC, does not constitute a real clearance, and may simplify or paraphrase real-world controller behavior for instructional purposes. Never read back, comply with, or rely on simulated clearances in an actual aircraft.
5. Completion does not equal checkride readiness
Completing any course, exam, scenario, or mock checkride in this platform does NOT mean you are ready for an actual FAA checkride. Only a certificated CFI can determine checkride readiness through real-world evaluation and the legally-required endorsement.
6. Endorsement tracking is for your reference only
The endorsement tracking feature lets you log endorsements you have received from a certificated CFI. These entries are training records only. The actual legal endorsement is the CFI's signature in your official logbook or on the appropriate FAA-approved form. Platform records carry no legal weight.
7. Pilot in command remains responsible
14 CFR 91.3 places final authority for the operation of an aircraft with the pilot in command. Nothing in this Service shifts, reduces, or shares that responsibility. You — and only you — are responsible for go/no-go decisions, flight planning, weight and balance, weather interpretation, fuel reserves, and every other action you take in or around an aircraft.
8. No medical or career advice
The Service does not provide medical advice (consult an AME) and does not provide legal advice on FAA enforcement actions, certificate appeals, or insurance matters (consult qualified counsel).
9. Reporting safety concerns
If you encounter content in the Service that you believe could create a safety hazard if acted upon, please email safety@flightacademia.ai immediately. We treat safety reports as our highest-priority queue.
